External Event: Meditation and Creativity Retreat with Subhana Barzaghi and Liz Turnbull

From August 9 until August 15 one of the Bluegum Sangha’s senior teachers, Subhana Barzaghi, will be leading a meditation and creativity retreat in collaboration with Liz Turnbull. This dana-based retreat, to be held in Byron Bay, will follow the ancient wisdom within our own personal bodies and attune to the extraordinary interconnectedness with the Earth, our Great Body, our precious source of everything. Through meditative inquiry, creative writing, art making and mosaic tiling we can explore a wise relationship between our lived bodies and the earth’s abundant wild intricate beauty.

Further details, including registration information, can be found on Subhana’s website.

Meditation and a Celebration of the late Mary Oliver

Tonight the Bluegum Sangha will celebrate the life and poetry of the late Mary Oliver with an evening of meditation, poetry readings and discussion, to be facilitated by Jonathan Page.

I don’t know exactly what a prayer is.

I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down

into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,

how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,

which is what I have been doing all day.

Tell me, what else should I have done?

Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon?

Tell me, what is it you plan to do

with your one wild and precious life?
